Anaheim Ducks - Dare to Dream?

Anaheim DucksDo I dare to dream that maybe, just maybe, my Ducks have finally started to act as a team? Am I going to jinx it now that I’ve written about it? Maybe.

Since the last blog, the Ducks beat the Dallas Stars in Dallas, and then proceeded to lose to the Devils at home and the Sharks in San Jose. Anaheim seems to beat the teams they aren’t supposed to be able to beat and lose to those teams who aren’t playing well. (On a side note, I finally saw Brodeur “live” and that was a good thing!!!)

Tampa Bay came into town and truthfully, I thought the Ducks would fall flat. I am happy to say that Anaheim won in OT. It wasn’t pretty, some things need working on, but we got two points. Tampa Bay is playing really, really well, so I look at it as a kind of moral victory, too.

Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins came to the Honda Center, so I expected a pretty decent game. What I got was the most stressful, fun game of the season yet!! Jonas Hiller was a freaking acrobat tonight and Lubomir Visnovsky seemed a lot bigger than he actually is. Ryan Getzlaf was FINALLY Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan was on fire. The Anaheim Ducks that showed up tonight were the best I’ve seen yet. Maybe calling up the new blood from Syracuse has helped. Cam Fowler is staying and is living with Scott Niedermayer and his family; talk about the best thing for Fowler!!! A good sign as well.

We are on a winning streak – 2, count ‘em, TWO – wins in a row!!! Hey! For the Ducks right now, that’s a feat in itself!!!

Sunday brings the Predators to the Honda Center. If the Ducks that showed up tonight are the ones who show up Sunday, we’ll have another good game. Hopefully, another 2 points as well…..
