ESPN Gives Sharks 1 in 6 Odds to Win Cup (sort of)

sharksfan ESPN has one expert (out of 6) predicting the Sharks will win it all in the 2008-2009 campaign. I recently got 8-1 on the Sharks at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe (the only teams above the Sharks were Detroit and Pittsburgh). Over the last two season a lot of experts picked San Jose to win it all and we know how that turned out, so I’m perfectly happy playing the “Dark Horse” role this year.

They’re also predicting Barry Melrose of Tampa Bay has a better chance of winning Coach of the Year honors over Todd McLellan. I can buy that - there’s more room for improvement when your team finishes the regular season 30th (TB) versus 2nd (SJ). But David Amber picked Wayne Gretzky….Wayne Gretzky!?!?!? Sorry, no disrespect but Gretzky is the Isiah Thomas of hockey.
