BTW, did anybody else see that Barry Melrose is picking the Ducks in 7 on the ESPN website? I think this is a good sign since Melrose is an idiot. My motto for the Ducks series - Whack a Quack!!
Oh, sorry for the fuzzyness. I’m letting my kids finish it up. Yah Melrose is a boob. There was a time when Melrose was lobbying for the head coaching job before we picked up Ron Wilson. Great job he did in Tampa Bay. I think it will be a tough series. The Ducks were one of the teams I did not want to face in the first round, but hopefully we will be better for it.

Phil Esposito on XM predicts the Sharks will win the Stanley Cup. But before then, he and his co-host think they’ll beat the Ducks in 6.
Phil’s a smart guy, but I say the Sharks will take the Ducks in 5. Also - EA Sports simulation has Chicago beating the Sharks before losing the cup to the Bruins. Again - a good thing in my opinion. Bottom line is that I’m sure the Sharks players don’t give a damn about anyone’s prediction.
Phil also thinks Marleau is going to impress a lot of people during the playoffs. Here’s my prediction - if the Sharks come out in Game 1 playing dump and chase, it’s gonna be a long, difficult playoffs. Dump and chase didn’t served us very well the last few months. We NEED to see that attacking, fancy “Oh-Fence” McLellan was hired to install.
ESPN is a terrible source for hockey news and predictions. Anyone else notice that with the exception of Carolina/New Jersey game they all picked the higher seeds to win.

I’m telling all of you, get XM Radio - NHL Home Ice is the BEST hockey news source in the universe. As opposed to ESPN predicting all top seeds, today on NHL Live! they were talking about Columbus upsetting Detroit, and even found a stat where the #7 seed has a higher tendency to upset a #2 seed than any other pairing, in fact over the last 14 years, 14 #7 seeds (half) have upset the #2 seed.
sharksfan - that involves us buying XM if we don’t already have it. I’m too cheap for that, haha. Anyhow, I normally rely on TSN for the best hockey news. Any other good sites?
ESPN has not been good since they stop showing games. I really like the NHL Network. They will show the in-studio telecast of the talk show broadcasted on XM radio. For unbiased reporting, TSN and SI are good. The best Sharks coverage is the Mercury News. For homer news and rumors check out HockeyBuzz.com
