Penguins Lose In Shoot-Out, But At Least Get A Point

Pittsburgh PenguinsThe Pittsburgh Penguins lost in a shootout tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. I will most certainly take one point considering that the Penguins were down 3-0 early in the 3rd. The Penguins stormed back with 3 unanswered goals by Sergei Goncha, Pascal Dupuis, and Maxime Talbot.

While watching the game, I made a mistake of doubting the Penguins. I watched as the Blue Jackets went up 3-0 with a goal by Antoine Vermette. The Penguins then stormed back by scoring 3 goals in 3 minutes and 25 seconds. Just like the previous game against Florida, the Penguins were down in the 3rd by at least two goals and came back to force the game into overtime. The Penguins are playing playoff level hockey which is making every game extremely fun and exciting to watch. I can only hope that they continue to do so.

I know that the players from last years squad are wanting a shot at the playoffs and they have 15 games left to prove that they deserve it. As a fan, it has been extremely fun to watch the Penguins players make this amazing run. I look forward to seeing what comes out of the final 15 games for these Pens.

With all of that said, I would like to notify everyone that I will be away for the next week and a half on my honeymoon. I am getting married on Saturday and will be unable to post until approximately March 23rd. Go Penguins! I hope that when I come back I have more good news to post about this Penguins team.

  1. Congratulations on getting married! My friend, ‘torturedkingsfan’ is getting married on April 18th. I warned him that was a BAD time to get married because it may not matter now, but some time down the road he might have to travel for his anniversary at the same time his Kings start their playoff run! Best time for a hockey fan to get married - August. After the playoffs, after the free agent signing period but before training camp opens!

  2. sharksfan,

Thanks for the good wishes. I think that even though I will miss some very important hockey games, I am glad that I won’t miss any playoff hockey. I will see you all in a little more than a week!
