Pittsburgh Penguins Make Franchise History
The Pittsburgh Penguins made franchise history today after defeating the Washington Capitals in a shootout 3-4. The Penguins went 5-0 during their extended road trip which had never been done in the Penguins history. Bill Guerin made his first goal in the Penguins sweater after receiving a wonderful assist from Sidney Crosby. Crosby won the game with the lone shootout goal.
So far Chris Kunitz and Bill Geurin have already helped the Penguins. Chris Kunitz (my favorite trade deadline pick up for the Pens) has 6 points since joining the team. I was extremely thankful, once the trade deadline had passed, to see that Ray Shero not making any monster moves as I did not think it was necessary. What the Penguins gave up for Geurin and Kunitz was well worth it (even though Geurin is only a rental player).
The Penguins are making a playoff run and have looked extremely well doing so. I believe that all of the top seeds will not look forward to playing the Pens if they continue to win. I get to look forward to Tuesday when the Penguins finally get back home to play Florida again in a very important game.
