Pittsburgh Penguins Still Looking Strong

Pittsburgh PenguinsWell, I am back and definitely excited about the remaining 10 regular season games left for the Penguins. They are currently in 5th place in the Eastern Conference, two points behind the Philadelphia Flyers, whom they lost two on Sunday 3-1.

From a fans point of view, there has definitely been a lot more positive things going on as of recently then bad. The power play has still been weak, however during the previous 6 game span the PP% has gone up ever so slightly. All four lines have been much more effective since interim coach Dan Bylsma had taken over which is extremely important especially when it comes to the playoffs.

Evgeni Malkin received an undisclosed fine from the NHL for the “hit to the head” of Los Angeles Kings winger Wayne Simmonds. Luckily, Malkin was only hit with a fine and no suspension.

Next, the Penguins play the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night. I am looking forward to this match up as the Flames will prove a good test for a Penguins team looking to bounce back from their Philadelphia loss.
