Flying High
Matt Carle & Chris Pronger - going well both statistically and as a defensive pair. if it wasn’t for the impressive play and time eating of these two then the flyers would be in real bother. they are a combined +12 while 2nd pairing Timonen and Coburn are a combined -15.
Arron Asham - [...]
Well, the biggest news of the NHL Draft Day 2009 was obviously the trade of Chris Pronger to the Philadelphia Flyers. Considering it was mentioned within the first 2 minutes of the telecast, I would say it was big news indeed. So, Pronger and Ryan Dingle were traded to the Flyers for Joffrey Lupul, Luca [...]
The Penguins are down 2 - 1 in their Conference Semi-Finals series against the Washington Capitals. This series has had a similiar twist to their first series against the Philadelphia Flyers with the exception that the situation is reversed. The Penguins have been out playing and out shooting the Capitals in every game so far [...]
One series down, three more to go…hopefully. The Penguins will open up the other Eastern Conference Semi-finals series against the Washington Capitals tomorrow afternoon at 1:00pm EST. Unlike the last series and all of last year’s playoff series (with the except of the Stanley Cup Final series) the Penguins will start off on the road [...]
All I can say is…wow! What an amazing comeback for the Penguins. The Flyers went up 3-0 and all seemed lost until Max Talbot took on a fight against Daniel Carcillo of the Flyers. Talbot pretty much got his butt kicked, but that fight ended up being the turn around point for the Penguins who [...]
With three games in the books for the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals series matching the Penguins vs the Flyers, the series is led by the Penguins 2-1. Games 1 and 2, were dictated by the Penguins. They made the right plays at the right time and jumped out to a 2-0 series lead. However, yesterday’s [...]
Are you ready? Yes, it is time for the 2nd season in the NHL. As mentioned in my previous post, the Penguins were able to capture home ice for the first round of the playoffs due to a couple of things outside of the Penguins control.
1.) The Carolina Hurricane’s had to lose their two last [...]
The Pittsburgh Penguins have concluded the 2008-2009 season with another win. They beat the Montreal Canadiens tonight after scoring two shorthanded goals. With the exception of the two goals Carey Price played amazingly and Marc-Andre Fleury did his part as well. A great way to end the regular season.
With the win the Penguins (and the [...]
Well, I am back and definitely excited about the remaining 10 regular season games left for the Penguins. They are currently in 5th place in the Eastern Conference, two points behind the Philadelphia Flyers, whom they lost two on Sunday 3-1.
From a fans point of view, there has definitely been a lot more positive things [...]
Tomorrow night’s San Jose Sharks game against the Florida Panthers is, believe it or not, the Sharks toughest opponent to date. Of all the opponents faced so far only one team, the Columbus Blue Jackets, had a win when playing the Sharks. Here are all the records of the teams at the [...]
